Noble kava

The kava plant is a tropical shrub that is native to the Pacific Islands. The root of the kava plant is used to produce a beverage that is popular in many parts of the world for its relaxing and calming effects. Most often, a beverage is made by grinding the root of the plant and mixing it with water, and it is traditionally consumed in social settings as a way to promote relaxation and reduce stress.

One of the main benefits of kava is its ability to reduce anxiety and promote relaxation without causing drowsiness or impairing cognitive function. This makes it a popular alternative to other anxiety-reducing drugs, which can often cause side effects such as drowsiness or impaired motor skills.

Kava has also been shown to have other potential health benefits, such as helping to improve sleep quality and reducing the symptoms of menopause. It has also been used traditionally as a natural remedy for a variety of other ailments, including headaches, chronic fatigue syndrome, and urinary tract infections.

In addition to its potential health benefits, kava is also an important cultural symbol for many Pacific Island communities. The kava ceremony, in which the kava beverage is prepared and consumed, is often seen as a way to promote social bonding and cooperation, and it is an important part of many traditional Pacific Islander customs and rituals.

Overall, the kava plant and the beverage produced from its root are important for both their potential health benefits and their cultural significance in many Pacific Island communities.

At Karuna Kava Bar and Beverages, we have a wide variety of kavas to choose from. We enjoy kava for its health benefits but also as a social alternative to alcohol.

Matcha is a type of green tea that originated in Japan. In the 12th century, the production of matcha was formalized and standardized by the Japanese tea master Sen no Rikyu, who developed the tea ceremony as we know it today. Since then, matcha has remained a popular drink in Japan and has gained increasing popularity around the world in recent years. Karuna Kava has two grades of matcha, one of which is a hand-selected High Koicha from Usachi Japan.
